Readathon Spring 2013
This is one of my favorite weekends of the year–Spring Readathon! I’ve got a stack of books that I hope to finish today and tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have work-work to do, but I should still get some serious reading-work done too. Here’s what’s on the menu: Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed (already started) Look at Me by Jennifer Egan (already started) Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America by Barbara Ehrenreich Orphan […]
Spring Readathon 2012
This is one of my favorite weekends of the year–Spring Readathon! Jack is away for the weekend, and I’ve got a stack of books that I have fallen behind on reading and reviewing. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot more writing and research than reading. I’ve got a list of books I’d promised to review already, and I feel terribly that I haven’t finished them yet. This weekend will change all that. Today I’ll be finishing a few books I’m already in […]
Thankfully Reading (and Writing!)
First of all, I would like to apologize for my recent lapse in blogging. Between school, my birthday, and Thanksgiving–not to mention a terrible cold–I haven’t been able to keep up with my usual posts. I’ve got a few entries drafted that I intend to post over the next week, so please be patient with me. It’s good to be back! And I thought I’d come back with a bang. This weekend I participated in one of my favorite readathons, Thankfully Reading. […]
Readathon 2011: Bring On the Reading!
This weekend, beginning at 8 am tomorrow (Saturday) morning, I will be partially participating in Dewey’s 24-hour-readathon. I look forward to this readathon every spring and fall, and even though I’ll be traveling to Delaware this weekend, I’m still planning on getting plenty read.
Another Reading Weekend
Aww snap. I must’ve pleased the gods of reading challenges, because they are granting me a second chance after I couldn’t give the Spring 24-Hour Readathon my all. Mother Reader is hosting the sixth annual 48-Hour Book Challenge (#48HBC on Twitter) on June 3-5. More from her site: The weekend is June 3–5, 2011. Read and blog for any 48-hour period within the Friday-to-Monday-morning window. Start no sooner than 7:00 a.m. on Friday the third and end no later than 7:00 a.m. […]
Spring Readathon!
With the arrival of the cherry blossoms in D.C., it is officially spring. And I can think of no better way to celebrate than everyone’s favorite seasonal event: a 24-hour readathon! Though I will be house-shopping on Saturday afternoon, I plan to devote the majority of my weekend to reading. I’d like to finish up a few books I’m in the middle of right now, including: • The Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie • The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy • […]
Halloween Reading
I’ve signed up for the Halloween Readathon hosted by Young Adult Books Reviewed this weekend… that’s right, I’m ready for some more readathon action! It’ll be a spook-tacular weekend!
Still Reading
Readathon is nearing its end, but I’ve decided to make up for time lost sleeping. That’s right, folks–I’m ready for another day of nonstop reading. I haven’t yet hit my goal, so I’ll keep you updated as I go.
Readathon-ing!
Happy readathon, everyone! I’m very excited to be able to participate again this year. I’ll keep you updated as I go!
Pre-gaming for Readathon
After a rainy week like this, all I want to do is curl up on my couch with a cup of tea and a good book. Maybe that’s why I’m so excited about next weekend—I can’t wait for Dewey’s 24-hour fall readathon.
